Ramadan Blessings Friends,

As we’re already present in the middle third of the holy month of fasting (Day#12), it’s humbling to witness the level of compassion and giving being displayed by our neighbours across Malvern, and the entire country! I’m especially proud of all those who have stepped up to ensure Malvern Eats reaches the most vulnerable.

As usual, we’ll be working with the Malvern Presbyterian Church (MPC) to coordinate delivery of lunches tomorrow. In coordination with Taibu & MPC, we will have over 225 hot lunches delivered to seniors/families across the community, including residents at Wigwamen. We’ll also provide takeouts for a few guests who drop by MPC. You’ll be pleased to know we’re now delivering 80+ meals to seniors in the Neilson Road complex.

The menu is a collaborative of sponsors – Highland Creek Royal Canadian Legion Branch 258 and its Ladies Auxiliary are providing 150 meals (Fish & Chips + Dinner Roll) and Sherry Aziz (Amir Quality Meats) who is providing financial support.

A special thank you to Councillor Jennifer McKelvie who connected us to the RCL. She is also arranging pick up of these meals and will be joining us in making some deliveries:)

Anita, Hiba, and Jerri will be packing the remaining 90 meals which are being catered by our dedicated friends from  Flame Shawarma Grill.

We will miss our dear Rev. Barbara as she will be away attending to a family matter. Subrina, Hannah, Hiba and our awesome volunteer drivers will ensure another successful lunch service.

Let’s all continue our efforts to support those most affected by this expanding crisis, as well as keep up our prayers for everyone’s good health and safety!
